Good news for VH1 and the ladies of TLC!
CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, the original movie chronicling the music career of R&B girl group, TLC, that premiered last night on VH1, garnered 4.5 million total viewers, according to a press release by the network. Such massive ratings makes it VH1′s highest-rated telecast in over five years and the #1 cable original movie among women 18-49.
The film, which stars Keke Palmer (Chilli), Drew Sidora (T-Boz) and Lil’ Mama (Left Eye), also took over Twitter timelines with 55 percent of tweets about television being dominated by the biopic. Additionally, it was the most tweeted show of the night with over 1.92 million tweets generated, four times greater than Monday Night Football.
The movie’s premiere also did wonders for TLC itself, as their soundtrack for the flick, “20,” jumped from #43 to #5 on the iTunes music chart, and #1 on the R&B chart.
