EVERYBODY LOVES KEKE WYATT [EXCLUSIVE]

In the land of R&B music, love is an ever-constant theme. From heartbreak to first loves, singing about the wonders and perils of romance comes second nature for soul singers. For nearly two decades, Keke Wyatt has made a name for not just singing about love, but SANGING about it, with a range so powerful it stops anyone fortunate enough to hear her voice dead in their tracks. Wyatt isn’t shy about showing off that voice of gold while sitting in a conference room at Centric’s headquarters on the 27th floor, overlooking Times Square in New York City. She belts out falsetto… Continue Reading

Album Review: August Alsina – ‘Testimony’

Everyone loves a good story, and August Alsina has quite one to tell. The singer’s rag-to-riches tale is captivating but, as documented on his debut album, Testimony, he could’ve been just another statistic. Luckily for Alsina, rather than ending up six-feet under or behind bars in the mean streets of New Orleans, he ended up at the top of the charts, now being mentioned in the same breath as Chris Brown and Trey Songz. But what’s so fascinating about Alsina is not just his story, but the complex duality of his artistry. Musically he sits comfortably in both the R&B… Continue Reading

Now with the release of her new album My Truth, Ledisi is unapologetically herself and unafraid to go after what she wants. In an exclusive interview with CentricTV.com, the singer talks about where her new sense of freedom comes from, embracing self-love… Continue Reading

TLC Says Beyonce Thanked Them For ‘The Best Time Of Her Life’

It’s no secret that TLC paved the way for many girl groups, including Destiny’s Child. While many would love to believe there to be a little competitive nature between the two female bands, considering their fan base often pits them against one another, TLC surviving members T-Boz and Chilli revealed that DC’s lead singer, Beyonce, actually paid homage to them. In an interview with The Grio’s Chris Witherspoon, the TLC ladies recalled back in 2011 at the American Idol finale show when Bey approached them backstage to thank them for letting Destiny’s Child open for them in the ’90s for the TLC… Continue Reading

New Music: Lady Gaga and R. Kelly – ‘Do What U Want’

Lady Gaga and R. Kelly have joined forces in what may be one of the most unexpected and unlikely collaborations in music. The song called, “Do What U Want,”  is a Rico Love-produced track that sees R. Kelly dabble into the pop-rock sound. In the song, Kelly and Gaga croon about love and the freedom to do what they want with their lover’s body. The song is surprisingly pretty epic. Take a listen: — I never thought I’d see the day, nor did I think such a collabo would sound so good! Lady Gaga’s ARTPOP may just be as epic… Continue Reading

New Video: Tamar Braxton – ‘Hot Sugar’

Tamar Braxton surely turned up the volume in her new video for “Hot Sugar.” In the video, Tamar does away with the cute and brings out her sexy vixen. In true Tamar fashion, the singer is all glammed up and busting choreography (something she’s been dying to do for the longest). In addition, Ms. Braxton brings a little of 2013 into the mix with an innovative Instagram theme and androgynous male background dancers – heels and all! Watch “Hot Sugar” for yourself: Go ‘head Tamar! This is certainly the Tamar that we’re used to on television. Playful, sexy and over… Continue Reading

New Video: Melanie Fiona – ‘Cold Piece’

Melanie Fiona is back with a new video to her single, “Cold Piece.” The smooth throwback-inspired track highlights the struggles of dealing with a lover who’s less than engaging, with a cold heart. In the video, Fiona has a little fun on an ice cream truck, with a little Pepsi product placement and cameos from R&B singers Luke James, Mateo and Ro James. New Video: Prince – ‘Breakfast Can Wait’

The legend Prince is back and better than ever (or did he ever leave?) in the new video to his single, “Breakfast Can Wait.” The funky tune about getting some lovin’ before breakfast is equally matched with quite the visual, including top-notch choreography and a clever surprise. See the masterpiece below: Of course, Prince being the rogue artist he is made a phenomenal video without even appearing his own visual. Now that’s boss status. I love, love, love this song and equally love the video. But then again, Prince can really do no wrong in my book…bravo! —@MRGERRENALIST

New Video: Janelle Monae, Miguel Have On-Screen Chemistry in ‘Primetime’

Janelle Monae and Miguel show off a little on-screen chemistry in their new video “Primetime.” The visual compliments the love ballad, with the two singers tapping into their acting skills as Miguel uses his charm to woo Monae (also known as Cyndi Mayweather). See the two in action below: LOVE the video. It never gets old to see Janelle, a chocolate sister, look so stunning without having to show a lick of skin. Miguel’s fiance better watch it! —@MRGERRENALIST
