Fantasia Returns to Broadway in Play Based on Duke Ellington, Harlem’s Cotton Club

Fantasia will be making her Broadway return this fall when she stars in “After Midnight,” a musical celebrating jazz singer Duke Ellington‘s years in Harlem’s famous Cotton Club. Fantasia, whose last Broadway stint was when she starred in “The Color Purple,” will start performing on Oct. 18 (official opening night is Nov. 3) and will end her run on Feb. 9. The singer will be the play’s first guest star.
