Black Students Less Likely To Hook Up Than White Students

Contrary to the long withstanding belief that Black youth are hyper-sexualized and mischievous, studies conclude that African-American college students are less likely to party and hook up than their white counterparts. Lingering racism may be a contributing factor in the decision-making of Black students, according to a report by Slate. Because Blacks have been traditionally stereotyped as hypersexual, it’s hypothesized that they choose not to engage in too much sexual activity in risk of falling in line with that convention. Twin Sisters Become Co-Valedictorians at Spelman College

With all the distracting¬†news fodder going on at Atlanta’s Spelman College, it’s nice to know there’s something far more newsworthy going on at the all-women’s historically black college. Identical twin sisters, Kirstie and Kristie Bronner, have been named this year’s co-valedictorians – the first time in the college’s history that twin sisters have achieved such a feat. With a 4.0 GPA, the Bronners are set to address the distinguished class of 2013 on May 19.
