Why can’t we all just get along?
According to a report by PageSix, Future and Drake are feuding over a jab Future made towards Drake’s new album, causing the Toronto rapper to kick Future off his concert tour. The saga all began last week when Billboard quoted Future on his opinions on Drake’s new album, Nothing Was The Same. ”Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do,” Future said.
Future’s reps immediately chided Billboard for taking Future’s comment out of context, and added that they were off the record. Drake, however, didn’t take those comments lightly and demanded that Future either get fired from the tour, or he’ll personally fire him. Well, it seems as though Future is biting back. The hip-hop musician is reportedly prepared to file a lawsuit against the 39-city tour (with Drake being the headliner) for lost wages, which is $40,000 a gig, or around $1.5 million in total.
Although Billboard has since edited the story, they still maintain that they were under the impression that Future’s comment was on the record. No reps from either Drake’s or Future’s camps have confirmed or denied the report.
Talk about drama. It’s a shame what could have been an awesome tour is turning into a circus over something as petty as this. Honestly, even if Future did say those things, it certainly doesn’t merit being kicked off the tour. It wasn’t that deep. But then again, this is Drake we’re talking about. Mr. Sensitive should grow a pair.
